More Pond Life

A good early walk with a full compliment of lady walkers.

Three of us stopped to feed the young swans from last year's brood. There were four Canadian geese and a Coot with two youngsters which were hiding in the overhanging branches.

Moving around to the feeding station we were surprised to see the adult swans with there brood of eight cygnets out of the water resting right alongside the path. One adult was on guard but not at all aggressive. Other blippers have posted this shot
so I won't. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2451318479488289706
They were struggling to feed or move about on the land so we encouraged them into the water to feed.
Such a delight to watch.

There was a Moorhen on the deck and a black headed full as well as a couple of Tufted ducks in the water.
Suddenly along came a couple of ducklings followed by mum.
One got 'ducked' by the male swan but bobbed up a few feet away - hearts in mouth moment! Then came four more ducklings. More than we saw all last year.

After the feeding fest they all followed mum back to their hideaway. So this became my blip.
16 young seen today, hope they all stay safe!
