Marjorie's ramblings

Bit of a frustrating day

This morning I took Mum to the hairdresser's and I popped into town to buy a pair of replacement walking sandals. My good friends in Millets had a pair of Meindls so that was the job done.

Lunch was a rushed affair because I had a physio appointment in Cramlington this afternoon. I was looking forward to discussing Arth (and Aggie) with Heidi and to have her advice on how to proceed. She wasn't there! She was off sick and the secretary had not been able to contact me - entirely because the other secretary had put a different name in the book when I made the appointment.

There was a lot of traffic and some roadworks, so the journey to and fro was not the easiest. You have to just accept that mistakes are made and this was not anything dire.

I think the main reason for any discomfort today is that the catkins are out and have not returned. We thought that allowing them outside had gone very well, but sometime yesterday Oscar went out and has not been back. I was up a couple of times in the night, "just in case", and during one of those Daisy slipped out too. Arghh!

We have to wait patiently and see if they will come home again or not. There will be quite rich pickings in the fields at the moment so they won't starve.

This clematis grows over one of the walls at our gate. I like the rich colours and the shadows on the ivy beneath.
