Marjorie's ramblings

Out with the Haltwhistle Walkers

The long walk today was 10 miles but not too difficult, so I joined the group. 21 of us went on the bus from Haltwhistle to Greenhead and then walked back to Haltwhistle via Killer Kellah Moor. This moor has a justifiably bad reputation because it is always boggy and tricky to walk over. Today it was bone dry.

We did a few ups and downs, but none was technically difficult. Here you see Pat, complete with new hip last year, striding out across moorland.

There were lovely woodland sections, but Stuart caught his head on a branch and had a nasty cut, about 3 inches long. Between us we found the appropriate first aid equipment and sent him off the A & E at the end of the walk where they glued the edges of the cut together.

He was more concerned that he would not be able to come to the pub for his pint...…...but he made it.

Arth and Aggie did very well today. They are now very sore and stiff. I hope they will recover overnight. When I arrived home the Federer match was in the final set, so I flopped on the settee and watched it to the end. What a surprise. Later this evening I watched the Nadal v Del Potro match. Another gut wrenching watch. Well done Nadal at the end, but it could have been either of them.

Now I'm wondering about the football result...….
