If you can't beat them...

Dufton Ghyll Woods

The first day of our couple of days in the Appleby area..  We arrived at the Caravan Club CL  (Certified Location) early afternoon.  What a lovely little site each with its own tap and drain.  We were soon set up and the kettle on.  After a cuppa we decided to tackle the main event!  Erecting an awning we had never seen up before.  This was the real reason fro having a few days away.  We bought the awning to use at shows as a smaller and simpler system than the marquee.

I know many caravaners get a lot of entertainment watching others erect awnings.  Well we must have kept them entertained - side panels in the front, front panels in the end etc.  Soon it was up and I have to say one of the neatest awnings I have ever put up.

In the evening we went for a walk in Dufton Ghyll woods.  After such a long period of dry weather we chose a slightly damp evening for a walk!  Never the less it was very pleasant to hear a stream still running the one behind the house has enough water to damped a piece of kitchen towel and that is about it.
