SILLY SATURDAY BBQ .... in the RAIN

SATURDAY

Bus to Newcastle
Train to Sheffield - which arrived in Sheffield 20 mins late
Missed connection to Derby ( where I was supposed to change to a Loughborough train )
Fortunately I was able to get a direct train from Sheffield to Loughborough instead
Picked up at Loughborough station by Becky and Mike
Arrived at Mikes parents.

Nice long chat and a catch up over coffee. Becky and Mike had stopped off at Milton Keynes on their way up from Sussex to do a Parkrun.  Mad keen on running aren't they.

It was raining heavily and continued to rain for the rest of the day - but the BBQ was set up outdoors under a parasol and the cooking of the food went ahead.  We just ate indoors instead of out.  My blip shot shows Mike arranging the food on the BBQ's and Becky keeping him company. Its my " Silly Saturday " entry.  Thanks to  admirer for hosting.

Mike's sister Clare, her husband Sean and 3 children joined us when the food was ready and we all ate our fill.  We had Eton Mess for afters.

Then we settled down to play a Murder Mystery game.  We were all given cards with our character names and back story  and we had to ask and  answer questions  about the murder of " Rupert".  One of us was the murderer and we had to guess who.  I picked wrong. - it was Becky  what done it and she had me fooled.  It was a lot of fun.

Then Clare and Sean and two of the children went home.  They left Arthur ( aged 2½) as he was fast asleep upstairs in his cot and they didn't want to wake him and take him home.

We all settled soon afterwards.  The rain was still lashing down as we made our way to bed.
