Marjorie's ramblings

A very special friend

Happy Birthday to Meda who was 90 today. We were at her birthday party in Sunderland at lunchtime.

Our day started earlier with a coffee morning in the village hall to welcome all the new people who have moved into Humshaugh in recent months. It was a great idea and lots of new people and older residents attended.

We dragged ourselves away to be in Sunderland for lunchtime. I was one of the youngest in the room; for once, Mum was not the oldest! There were a good number of people from Ewesley Road Methodist Church, where Mum and Dad were  members. It was lovely to see them all meeting up and enjoying each others' company.

Meda has a very sunny personality and she was thrilled to see the friends and family who arrived.

Back home I had a quick sleep before meeting Julie to see The Children Act. I loved the film and thought that Emma Thompson played a blinder.

Julie is staying tonight, ready for Pat and Val's BBQ tomorrow.

In other news, Oscar came in tonight and was happy to stay in . He is hunkered down somewhere, probably the wardrobe. We hope this means he will come in more and be settled with us. Fingers crossed.
