Honey Bee....

We've been having a great run of wonderful weather this week--75 F today, sunny and breezy--so Mae and I went to Grant Park beach to enjoy it while we can.  We spent some time walking through the prairie restoration area looking for a blip--apparently my 2000th.  With Fall approaching there are are even fewer flowers blooming this week: the long-bracted tickweed, ragweed & a few purple wild asters. This was the one and only honey bee I saw flying around, although we saw several monarchs flitting over the flowers. After a little camera time, we spent another hour tossing stones into the water and digging in the sand, then headed home for lunch. Yesterday she fell asleep about two in the afternoon and slept for almost two hours--I guess all that hiking tired her out, so maybe she'll do the same today. :)))
