Life in Sunny Dubai

The soda bread and cheesecake! (I forgot to mention, G baked soda bread as well during her marathon session in the kitchen yesterday).

So, this was lunch today. Nice and simple. The cheesecake wasn't too sweet. And later, at 4 o'clock tea-time, we had a slice of the banana cake.

It's been an at-home day! I got my old Yamaha guitar out to take a look at it and give it a clean. The case it lives in has loads of (sheet) music that has accumulated over the years, so there was an attempt at some tidying up there. G got her treble and wooden recorders out and had a go at them. I wish I could just churn out a melody like she can; I always need my guitar chords!

We decided to walk to a nearby music shop, mainly to get a ukelele stand. Couldn't believe it when I turned a corner, and they have moved! Right into Karama instead of being on the outside. A smaller shop. but well laid out. I wish I'd taken a picture now. They have managed to fit loads of keyboards including a baby grand piano in a really small space! Acoustic guitars on one wall, and electric guitars on the opposite side! Sadly, they didn't have the stand I wanted.

It was extremely humid today. We were drenched just walking at 8pm in the evening. September. Ugh!

And for some reason, the temperatures are going to be back in the mid-40's for the next few days. Hoping that the people in the Far East, as well as the East coast of the USA, don't take too much of a battering. Hurricane Florence and Typhoon Mangkhut - two storms of a lifetime happening at the same time in two different oceans, thousands of miles apart! Incredible. I guess some high temps and humidity can be tolerated in light of those two weather events.
