A good day

Today I had lunch with my dearest friends Gena and Terri.  They used to live in Edmonds when I lived there and we were very close.  Gena is another psychologist and we'd get together for lunch weekly and have dinner at their house  sometimes in the evenings.  But 20 years ago, they moved away, first to Whidby Island, which meant a ferry and road trip to visit them, and more recently to Mount Vernon, which is about 50 miles north.  I used to drive up there to visit them, but as aging and health issues made that more difficult for them (Gena is 82 now), we saw each other much less often.  But it's wonderful when they come south and we can get together for lunch and catch up, as we did today.  They are outdoors folk and love hiking.  They showed me lots of wonderful photos of their recent trips to the Olympic Peninsula and to Mt. Rainier.  We enjoy each other's company so much.

Then Endless Weekend met me at Mattress Firm and I went ahead and purchased the adjustable bed I wrote about yesterday.  It will be delivered on October 9, because they have to special order a twin size adjustable base.  So now I can shop for sheets to fit.

On the way home, I stopped in at the Asian market to pick up some fruits and vegetables, and took photos of the exotic items on the shelves.  Here are a number of different leaves, stalks and fronds used in Asian cooking.  I do so enjoy looking at everything in that store, even if I have no way of using most of what I see there.
