Marjorie's ramblings

How would we react?

A lot of people have moved into our village over the last few months and have occupied the new houses. We older residents are not too keen on the architectural style, but it is lovely to see how so many people are settling in and taking an active part in village life. Four have joined the team at our community shop.

Last week, one of the newbies, another Marjorie (and there is also one more), fell backwards while playing badminton in the village hall, hit her head against the stage and was knocked unconscious. She had dislocated her neck and has an arm and wrist fracture. She was in an induced coma for a few days but I hear that she is now awake and beginning to have some movement. (The village grapevine is active and people are very concerned about her.)

Now you see the significance of the notice in the shop window. What a sense of humour. It made me wonder how I would react (not that I play badminton........)

Poor Arth is swollen and painful so I could not join the walk to Garrigill on a glorious summer day. I did walk to the school to deliver a letter and to the surgery to pick up Mum's prescription. That was all. Frustrating.

Did lots at the computer.
