Portraits

It was not good weather for outdoor photography today, dull light and totally uninspiring. I decided it was a good day to do my homework for our camera group. I missed our last session as I was away, and so missed the talk on evolving style and the fashion photographers from the early 1900's to current times. I was told that the homework was to copy an image by one of these photographers,  so I spent some time looking at various images by some of the photographers and found that I really liked the work of Herb Ritts and Peter Lindbergh. With willing (bribed) models in the form of Gavin and Thomas, I managed to try to copy some of the images I liked, not nearly as easy as it looks. It is nigh impossible to copy another photographer's lighting, but anyway I had fun trying and the above image is one of the results. Obviously the one on the left is the portrait by Peter Lindbergh (not sure who his subject is) with my attempt at something vaguely similar next to it.

We were going to have a walk after lunch but the idea of a movie on TV is far more appealing!
