Life in Sunny Dubai

Start of another new week and it's going to be a really busy one! G went off early and I got on with making lists and putting things in place for the next few days. My cousin's daughter arrives in Dubai today for a week. She's attending a specialist chocolate course.

She made her way to her hotel and we picked her up from there mid-afternoon. First stop was for her to familiarise herself with where she will be spending the next few days. Then she needed a money exchange, so we took her to our trusted provider.

That done, we headed to Al Seef. I really wanted to take her to Chapters, but we ended up sitting out and having a specialist burger. The food was delicious but we had to put up with a very cheeky waiter. G was supposed to be tutoring, so we had to start heading back. Fortunately, the parent got in touch to say she needed to cancel the lesson, so we were free for the rest of the evening.

We went to Wafi (see extra), not just to source an item of clothing for Marylou, but also to see their decorations. They are always stunning, but this is the first year I have seen them veer away from the traditional colours to this becoming just a winter festival. It was still spectacular and a sight to behold.

Trousers secured (at 90% discount), we had a quick walk around the tree to get some pictures and then popped into the amazing Wafi Gourmet. Wow. What a shop! I could never work there. Time was getting on so we started to make our way to the next stop (a tailor). We heard the music of the sound and light show so stopped to watch that. It was a Christmas one!

Back to Karama, and we went to a centre where they are several tailoring shops, so Marylou could go from one to the next until she found one who would take her trousers up on the spot. All done in fifteen minutes at the grand cost of £4.50! A bargain for sure! We then dropped her back to her hotel. It's been a full day and a great one. :)
