Christmas Spirit

We've had lunch with Jack's sister and BIL today and as usual there was no lull in the conversation or the laughter either, it's put us all in a good frame of mind for the season of goodwill but whether or not that's a truism any more I don't know but I like to think it is.  Still feeling festive and minus a blip I decided to photograph the tree; the star effect to the right of the tree is my off camera flash which I'd placed on the newel post.  I'd like to say it was planned but I can't, the post was the only spot I could put it in order to direct the light onto the tree.
