Gently down the stream

Doing herony things

Today (early, it was -2 degrees C) I went down to the reserve to feed the robins and the squirrels, rats foxes.  And indeed there was a fairly clear sign today that it might actually be the foxes eating what I put out.  Let's hope one day I get a glimpse, even a blip, of them.  I also saw the heron doing herony things, fishing for his breakfast on the other side of the river and in brilliant sunshine.  So nice not to be always blipping him against the light.  I only managed it once last year, usually he stalks about on his perch with the sun behind him looking hunched and grumpy like my next door neighbour.

Have a very happy evening in anticipation of the weekend ;))

xx
