Marjorie's ramblings

A happy visit

I had a dental check up and a hygienist's appointment first thing in Corbridge. I drove with no pain. Great.

Back home to find that within half an hour of opening bookings, we had some walks sold out. The bird walk usually sells out first, but it was pipped at the post by one of the long walks from the Eden to Tyne.

Lots to talk about and waiting lists to put together already. Arghh! Maureen did this job brilliantly, but it's mine now, so I must get it right.

Margret, next door, drove me to my physio appointment in Newcastle. Only 0.5 degrees off straight and more flexion than I had. I am doing well for 10 weeks post op and have been discharged to continue working at home. Hooray! Wish the pain would disappear, but it's par for the course.

Back home in time to make tea and biscuits for Mum's visitors. Rosemary and Jill are both fellow embroiderers. They brought good humour and samples of work to show Mum. It was just what she needed.

The phone has gone a lot for the rest of the day. I'm pondering how to help the disappointed walkers who are unable to find the places they want on our walks.

Margaret (across the road) called with Mum's spare specs.

I'm not enjoying all the washing up. I realise that the dishwasher does some things better than I do, especially if I can't rinse and wash immediately. Roll on Friday and a new machine.
