I had a great night:s sleep and didn't rush to get up. Another hazy (dusty), breezy, not too hot day (23deg). Started at the Msherib Museums, 4 restored in the middle of a downtown regeneration. Ironically, given the accusations about foreign labour being exploited to build the World Cup stadia the first house had an exhibition on slavery. It didn't end in Qatar till 1952.

Then lunch in an Iraqi restaurant in the Souq before going back to relax by the pool to read my book and then tidy up the packing.

The plan this evening was to go to the Latest Cutlyral Centre. I did, but came straight back. It looked modern and false and was miles away and the driver's inability to find it didn't give me any confidence about getting back. That was 80 riyals, but at least I saw the other side of the Bay. I prefer 'my' side.

Had a walk to the dhow harbour to see the lights and then back to the Souq to read, drink, eat and people watch.

I got to the airport early and then there was a queue to get OUT of Qatar. Their immigration staff make Border Force like the most efficient service in the world - more folk (inefficiently) managing the queue than stamping passports.

But now in the Lounge, with a G&T and my book. Next stop KL.
