An ordinary life....

Golden Glow...

David had a very busy morning.

Apart from walking Lola, he had the merry job of taking all our empty bottles recyclable glassware to the bottle bank recyclable glassware bank .  It's the first time he's been since the beginning of December and over that time period we have celebrated five birthdays, Christmas, Hogmanay, New Year's Day and all the Fridays, so there was quite a queue forming behind him by the time the last bottle piece of glassware was posted through the port hole!

I spent this afternoon planning a little photographic project that I've been thinking about for a while.  Won't say any more about it at the moment other than I am quite excited about it and hope I can get it done to my satisfaction.  It's nothing major, just something I would like to put together for posterity.

And now to the big announcement of the day...

Circle your calendar...it’s a first!.   Well for us anyway :-))

Alan left at 7pm this evening with Ally to go to the Friday night disco (he’s done that before, that’s not the first) however, she's just texted to say that now the disco is finished they're going to the cinema so they won’t be home till after 12.30.  She closed her text by saying "No need to wait up, Alan’s got his key"

So we reckon this is the first time we’ll be in the position of lying awake waiting to hear him get back home safely!

I know in the grand scheme of parenting this is a right of passage that most parents are generally not celebrating, but in the days following his birth, and indeed the intervening years (especially during December 2016), it was a day we didn't take for granted that we would ever see.

So I am cracking open my raspberry and rose liqueur gin and having a shot on the rocks :-))

PS Of course we now feel obliged to go to bed early so he doesn't think we stayed up late waiting to make sure he got home safely!  lol!

PPS Photo of him and Lola up to nonsense earlier today in extras :-)
