Dedication

Something different today.

I travelled to Manchester.

Junior’s ice hockey team is playing here tonight against Manchester Universities. 23:30 face off…

They are in the position of needing a win and a draw from their last 3 matches to win their championship - UK North, Tier 1. They play Manchester again in Edinburgh on Sunday.

As I may have mentioned before, they don’t have many supporters. Only 3 or 4 of them are Scottish. Occasionally parents turn up from Sweden or Canada or wherever, but it’s a bit of a trip for them. Friends come to the home games, but being mostly students, away games are too expensive.

Having a senior railcard is useful sometimes.

I was here in time to hit Chinatown for lunch. Cheap and cheerful.

Now it is a question of how I stay awake spend the evening until it’s time to head for the game.
