Wound up in Wexford

Valley of Desolation

We drove back to Graaf Reinet today (having passed through there en route to Cradock0.  We were lucky enough to spot some giraffe in a private game reserve alongside our road.

We visited the game viewing area of the Camdeboo National Park, seeing many of the same buck and other animals as in The Mountain Zebra Park.

Then we had an extended lunch break in Graaf Reinet, admiring the rather splendid church, before tackling the road up to The Valley of Desolation.  It's practically impossible to capture the splendour of the rock formations in a photo.  But I'm not really convinced it deserves to be given the soubriquet of Desolation, there was plenty of greenery and lots of bird life.  I've included a couple of extras.

We're moving on tomorrow, spending a couple of nights in accommodation within the Mountain Zebra Park, where we won't have WiFi, so I may not blip for a few days.
