Natural Habitat

Goodbye Port Albert - the wind got up overnight and the cabin door banged and windows rattled. Needless to say, I slept totally soundly.
But what’s happened to the warm weather? Long trews on, and a fleece to hand as we headed up the road to Melbourne through repeated downpours.
So, Melbourne! Our last couple of days and we’ve saved the hippest coolest hotel for last, the Melbourne QT. Sooo good looking. Admittedly there’s a downside to that. Form and function, n’that. Don’t expect to find anywhere to put your towel once you’ve unrolled it and used it. Rails and pegs do ruin clean lines. Not sure why there are towels anyway. Hasn’t Dyson perfected the body drier?
Out down town for some art - to the Potter Centre - a good overview of the development of Aussie art (not forgetting the 30,000 odd years before European colonisation...). Great to be in a Gallery again; it’s like riding a bike, innit.
Later, a swift beer in the Crafty Squire  before heading out to scour Chinatown for an eat. So much choice, and how easy to make a bad one. And what a bad taste that leaves - but only briefly as luckily the doors of that Crafty Squire were still open.
