Marjorie's ramblings

A reluctant Oscar

After blipping Daisy the other night, I thought it would be good to have Oscar in the limelight. As you will see from the image, he was in a dark, uncomfortable corner and was not willing to come out. He is behind Mum's wheelchair in our back hall, with little light reaching him.

He always looks as though he has been in some altercation with another cat or cats.

In many ways, his behaviour is much improved. I have even managed to touch him briefly once or twice, but he would prefer to stay away from human contact, unless he sleeps on the bottom of Mum's bed that is!

It's been hectic. There have been numerous 'phone calls, messages, emails and texts about the walking festival. Lots of changes and some new bookings. The last text so far was at 2210!

I've also had messages from the insurers and the kitchen fitter. Lesley, who was going to start decorating for us in May, came to see me. She very kindly has agreed to put off our work until later in the year. I was trying to think how I could empty one lounge for her to paint before the kitchen fitters start. It would be a huge task.

Mum had her eyes tested this afternoon. The optician is wonderfully patient and cheerfully regards her eyes as a challenge. He will provide new reading specs and we will see how this helps.

Tomorrow the festival starts and I have a very busy day. It's always lovely to see all our old friends arriving in Haltwhistle. We will be welcoming some new ones too.
