Home

We had an earlier breakfast this morning, and left the hotel in Bath at 9.

After a tea/coffee break at some services on the M4 we arrived in Hoddesdon at 12.30. I'm so glad I didn't have to drive on the M25, I hate it. Too fast, too close together. Horrible. Anyway, dad looks so much better than when I last saw him, over a week ago in Harlow hospital. Mum was cutting the grass. We had an hour chatting and a cup of tea, then headed to Cambridge. Same again at Jon's mum and dad's, where Win was also mid way through cutting the grass! We had more tea, more chat then drove the 2 hours home, arriving about 5.30.

The boys were both home - tidying! (Daniel said he thought we were coming home tomorrow!!)

We were greeted by a lovely pile of cards from friends and family, so thank you everyone for that, and also your many lovely messages on Facebook. We feel blessed to have made so many caring and generous friends over our 30 years and more together. Long may those friendships continue.

A quick walk to the allotment, then dinner cooked for 3 as Dan has gone out. Now I'm going to unpack my bag. Feeling exhausted after our 'relaxing' 5 days away - so perhaps an early night. That 4 poster was grand - but it's good to be home.
