North of the Border

Packed up the Lucker house and set off in the motorhome heading north. First stop was Kelso Abbey. Interesting but not spectacular. We also spent some time in a print exhibition set up by Kelso Camera Club. Interesting, especially talking to the few members looking after it.

Then on to Jedburgh Abbey which was spectacular. I spent a lot of time hanging around having lined up my shot for other visitors to get out of the way!!! (extra)

Lastly onto a gem of a fortress and best seen in the gloom and clouds - Hermitage Castle. It wasn't really a castle but had links with Mary Queen of Scots and wasn't actually 'open' today but easy enough to climb over a couple of gates. This view is from the old chapel looking towards the castle.

Back now in England near Kielder where we will spend the night. Tomorrow? Who knows?
