A quiet Fourth

I took my latest load to Goodwill this morning and then headed to the supermarket, where I was instantly struck by this display.  It doesn't look quite so impressive in the photo as in reality, but it seemed to represent the joy of Summer and of being a free nation.  The contrast with the ghastly  celebration thrown by that man in DC is telling.  He loves himself far more than his country, and makes a mockery of patriotism.

Hope you are all enjoying this day off.  I'm dreading the illegal neighborhood fireworks that will start going off as the evening comes on.  Even with the windows closed they're really distressing and they go on into the night.
