Parakeet-a-boo

After a morning's work, F and I headed to Ham House by the Thames. However, the house (the most haunted in Britain) was closed - boo, hiss, boo. It was a gorgeous, sunny day so we didn't mind too much. We headed down the Thames Path to Kingston. On the way, we were surrounded by an eager flock of parakeets performing acrobatics on the tree branches. They were great characters. At Kingston, we had delicious baked camembert and sticky toffee pudding at a riverside pub, then I headed into London for a leaving drinks - three more redundantees left my old workplace today. It was lovely to see my old work colleagues again (I know it's only been a week, but...), and I was sad to see them so down about everything, more so than when I left them last week. I'm sure they'll all be fine, but I think it's more horrible for them than for the this redundantee - they're in the office picking up the pieces, and it can't be pleasant.

Still, had a few great chats and discovered a new local friend who I walked home from the station with. Hooray! She may be close to joining blip, too...
