New venue

for our Community Singling Group today.
It’s temporary as our usual place, Bingley Methodist is hosting an exhibition this week.
This was taken on the landing leading to the ‘Upper Room’ part of the new extension to the Eldwick Church which is a combined church bringing together the church of St Laurence and Eldwick Methodist church. This window is the Bruce window, named after the architect of the old Methodist church. The extended church has been beautifully done retaining old and incorporating new. They were very keen to let us look around.
It was a bit cramped but the acoustics were better than Bingley. I think our leader was quite keen to consider a change to this venue. Not as easily accessible for all and limited parking but a carrot is a cafe which opened specially for us. Lots of us stayed for coffee and we were told they would be willing to put on sandwiches for lunch if we made the move.
Well have to wait and see.
(PS we were told that this window is illuminated at night so can be seen from outside, I will have to look out for that when passing.)
Hot and blowy this afternoon, perfect for getting the holiday washing dry, not so much for ironing!
