Marjorie's ramblings

Pity the poor photographer

It wasn't me today.

We have had quite a lot of new houses built in our village in the last two years. One set of 25 were built on the Bog Field. The developers said they would leave the rest of the field as a village amenity (presumably for Bog Trotters like me). Then they decided to put in a plan for 20 more homes. We do not need 20 more expensive  4 -5 bedroomed houses. We really need some (truly) affordable homes (and not on the Bog Field).

At the planning meeting of the council on Monday, the application was unanimously rejected. The local paper decided to run the story and wanted happy villagers in a picture. It was very short notice but a small group of us turned up.

The photographer was delightful. We had a good camera equipment chat before he did his best to organise the group. It wasn't easy (as you see.)

I was in Hexham briefly to take a poster for the Flash Fiction walk to the book shop and to order a prescription for Mum.

This afternoon I went to meet the long walkers after they arrived at the Black Bull in Haltwhistle. There were a lot of them despite the rain today. It was great to catch up with friends and meet some new people.
