An ordinary life....

Do not adjust your sets...

Lola's had a bit of a makeover!  ;-))))

Great excitement in the Damnonii household today.  Two very special visitors were coming for lunch.  Lovely Blipper Ann and her very special little collie dog Trixie :D

Ann is very well known in Blipland as the mummy of Molly the Gorgeous Collie and we had the pleasure of meeting Ann and Molly way back in 2014 when we holidayed in Cornwall.

Sadly Molly, after a long and happy life, went over Rainbow Bridge in January this year, devastating Ann and all of Blipland who had the pleasure of following their adventures.

Some weeks later Ann heard about a little abandoned Collie who was looking for a home and how could she resist? And so Trixie's Adventures (and Ann's :-)) make up a wonderful second stage of Ann's Blip journal and I have thoroughly enjoyed following their adventures so far.

So after five years, Ann and I finally got our act together and today they came for lunch and I can tell you Trixie is every bit as adorable in real life as she is on Blip.

As you can probably guess, It didn't take Lola and Trixie long to get to know each other very well.  They were so lovely together.  Different breeds but so similar in colour.  And definitely similar in temperament, mischievousness and energy levels!!

Anne very kindly brought Lola a toy (and a wee something for me for the Gin Palace.  Thanks Ann! :-)) I had a little toy for Trixie so we gave them their respective toys, and like all youngsters, found each other's toys more interesting.

They had a wee runaround in the side garden, cut short when Lola started digging!  Trixie was a very good girl and didn't follow suit.  That said she did lull David into a false sense of security by gazing lovingly at him before stealing his sandwich from his plate.  Ann was mortified and was heard to repeat that well known dog-owner's lament she's never done that before!!!

Hilarious!

Of course it wasn't long till it was our turn to be mortified and cry she's never done that before, when Ann took her eye off her slice of cake for a split second and Lola got right in there!  Hahahahaha!

Such was their energy levels, we weren't sure if we would manage to get the girls to sit still long enough to get a photo of them together, but with much shouting of sit and stay and treats being waved in the air, there was a few seconds of compliance and we managed to get some shots of them together (see extra)

While David was giving Ann a wee tour of the Gin Palace (sadly closed for winter now.  Ann you will just have to return for a wee overnight in the Spring once it's officially open again ;-) Trixie jumped back onto the stool and posed beautifully then came to me for a treat.  That girl is a fast learner!

All too soon it was time for Ann and Trixie to head home.  Ann is fully supporting Edinburgh's cocktail week so had to be home for the start of cocktail hour :-))

Ann it was so lovely see you again and meet Trixie.  She is so beautiful and such a wee character.  She and Lola are so alike in mischievousness personality and played together so beautifully.   Enjoy the rest of cocktail week and hope to see you and Trixie again soon :-) x

PS As predicted Lola is exhausted and has slept all evening.  I am sure Trixie will have done the same!  :-)
