Marjorie's ramblings

Dark Skies Voices

It rained a lot today and I stayed at home. More sorting of the study was achieved, but it is slow progress.

Tonight I went to Julie's in Newcastle for a meal before we headed off to St James' and St Basil's (Js' and B's) for a concert given by Landermason. Fiona Lander and Paul Mason live near Bellingham and they are the people who organise Baafest every year. They are a talented musical duo, composing and singing in a wide variety of genres.

I learned tonight that Fiona's Dad plays jazz piano and she grew up hearing that at home.

Dark Skies Voices are a new choir who gave their second performance tonight. They are terrific. They sing without music copies and have achieved a high standard after only 5 rehearsals.

Apart from the cold - blankets were handed out in the interval - it was a brilliant evening.
