A walk in the country

The weather forecast was good, so we headed off in the direction of the Mendip Hills, parking the car at a village with the wonderful name of Chew Magna - we'd found a guided circular walk from there of 5-6 miles which was said to have excellent views. As you can see, this was certainly true. We were glad to have hiking boots on however as, following all the recent rain, the paths were decidedly muddy!

We also passed a wonderful rather "Moomin-type" house on a tiny plot of land surrounded by 3 roads by the village of Stanton Drew (see the extra) which gave us a good laugh.

This evening we said goodbye to Son#3 and his partner and began our journey northwards again. We want to call again on Mum-in-law in Macclesfield on our way home but didn't want to drive all the way there tonight so we're now tucked up about halfway, at Tamworth.
