Life in Sunny Dubai

Four Dozen Years Old

I've been at home all day, so today's blip is a collage using pictures that didn't get used for last Friday's blip.

The big thing, of course, is that the UAE celebrates 48 years of nationhood today. I woke to a beautiful blue sky and really wanted to go out and get some pictures, but there were some admin things to tackle at home. Some time got lost troubleshooting problems that should never occur (Telco charging me for a technician's visit which never took place) etc. These things are so tedious and waste so much time.

We watched the National Day events broadcast live on TV. They did some spectacular things and have much to celebrate and be thankful for. Such a young country who have achieved so much. The grand finale was an extended (over twenty minutes) fireworks display from Abu Dhabi corniche. I can only imagine what it would be like being there in person. You get great close up shots watching on TV though! ;)
