Life in Sunny Dubai

The Mall in Dubai

We met up with friends of SweetArt today who are visiting Dubai. They carried out a freshly baked Christmas cake for us!! They will carry back a few things for SweetArt from us.

We then proceeded to the Bagel Bar for lunch, slightly extended today as we were so chilled out. A phone call came through informing us that we can go ahead with booking a venue in the hotel the church meets at for our December OaSis meeting. This is fantastic news for us.

A quick shop in Carrefour before we left Festival City. I wanted to get a picture of Sheikh Mohammed's Palace with the flags up for National Day. G took this picture. Unfortunately, the sun is in the wrong place.

There were other pictures taken today, but I chose this one because I've been watching the news about the NATO summit in London. In one scene, the BBC showed the Mall all decked out with the flags of participating countries and then some of the Heads of States arriving at Buckingham Palace for the Gala Dinner tonight. It looked splendid in the afternoon light (The Mall in London).

G has to go back to work tomorrow. Me too! GK over and out... :)

PS. Whilst preparing for the OaSis meeting, G was going through some old papers and unearthed a fax (yes, a FAX) from 1997 which had the menu for a Christmas meal! I told her she's got to preserve it.
