Running repairs

Snapped this morning when the lad was repairing/replacing part of the down-pipe that runs from the guttering. The golf ball size hail totally wrecked this part and it wasn't until last night when it was raining very heavily that we realised that we had damage.
Speaking of last night, I did mention about the thunder storm that we were experiencing when I was putting my blip in.  This continued all night and into the morning.....lightening which lite up the sky and our house, the thunder claps horrendous.  Never in all my days have I experienced such a storm and one that lasted more than 12 hours.  Very little sleep was had.
It finally moved on mid morning giving sunshine but those pesky gales have returned.
So much rain in our back country/divide that the Rangitata River is in serious flood, SH1 is closed, the rail bridge is washed away and a state of emergency has been declared by Timaru's Civil Defence.
Our West Coast is also being hammered, with bridges washed away and endless rain.

The forecast in coming days isn't very hopeful either.  Timaru is certainly hitting the National News today, and the recent hail storm a week of so back.  Our little town doesn't need this kind of marketing.
