Poinsettia in the hearth

The rain that started late yesterday afternoon eventuality fizzled out late morning. Fortunately, we were not affected by flooding as were many other people, neither did we have to travel by road or rail which were very much disrupted.

First visit to the gym for a month since that severe back injury on the leg press. Managed the mile swim, which got easier after the first 30 lengths, then gingerly did a few weights and a good cycle. All appears to be ok.

Matthew came around for a while this afternoon to deliver and collect presents. It was good to spend a little time with him.

We made a last minute decision to see the Albion Christmas Band at the St. Edith’s Folk Club this evening. Another excellent Christmas do. The band consists of Simon Care (Edward II), Simon Nichol (Fairport Convention), Kelly While and the legendary Ashley Hutchings (Fairport, Steeleye Span amongst others)

Another busy day which is why today’s blip is of the Christmas poinsettia which comes out every year to grace the fireplace. I’m keeping a blip of baubles and trees in reserve.
