Nicky and her Nikon

Happy Christmas!

Happy Christmas to everyone - wishing you many blessings on this special day and hope that you have spent it with loved ones or friends.

Gavin took Xena out much earlier than usual for her morning walk - then back to home to a breakfast cooked by Luke of scrambled eggs and salmon, before we moved to sit next to the Christmas tree to start opening the presents. Santa was very generous and everyone seemed to like their presents. Even Xena got some presents which she seems to love.

I then started cooking the lunch - we had planned to eat just after 3pm and I had a schedule of what had to go in the oven at what time so that everything was all ready at the same time.... it was like a military operation timed to the last minute! We enjoyed roast turkey, a boneless  leg of lamb, roast potatoes, roasted parsnips and carrots, red cabbage, brussel sprouts with chestnuts and bacon, pigs in blankets, stuffing balls, and off course gravy and home made cranberry sauce. Everyone said it was delicious and then after a while I served the raspberry trifle which they also enjoyed. No supper needed after that!

Of course I had to take the obligatory Christmas photo - Adam always tries to pull a sneer and don't ask about Tommy's hair - we are hoping it's a phase he will grow out of!
