Life in Sunny Dubai

Wow. What a busy day. So busy, I was shattered at the end of it, so this is being posted on Sunday night...

We started with the first OaSis meeting of the year. We met at our usual venue which was good with just the right number of ladies. G did a talk about Eve. She has planned studies on Women in the Bible and Eve was the obvious person to start with!

It was great to get home and have a few hours to just chill and catch up with ourselves until we met up with our friends again at 7. I'd asked to meet them at Wafi but forgot to specify exactly where. It was super then to meet up very quickly after getting there.

Dinner was at Carter's (hadn't been there for AGES) before driving over to the Last Exit in Khawaneej. Bob loves bikes and there are often a few to see there. Well, as happens so often, we seemed to find ourselves in the right place at the right time.

Because of Shopping Festival, there is free entertainment there. The first act we saw was a group of acrobats called the Wallkings who use a trampoline to do some spectacular, perfectly timed stunts. I was so thrilled I got to seem them. There was a solo singer as well, using loops really well. Bob & Celia were well pleased with the evening, especially as Bob saw several high-end bikes and got to chat with their owners.

We came home via the E44, Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, City Walk and Sheikh Zayed Road!!! I wanted to show them a few of the sights in the night. They loved it all. I have to say, they have amazing stamina, having been out since 10am as they did the Big Bus Tour in the morning. Sadly, they were stuck in traffic too much of the time, so didn't get to do everything on the itinerary!

My extra is from the Bougainvillea garden at the Last Exit (D89).
