Watching the performance

I spent an interesting morning at "The Societies" London Photo Convention and Trade Show.  (I just went for the free trade show.)  It is an opportunity to keep up to date with the current technology and, if you do want to buy equipment, the discounts on offer are excellent. I bought my little Panasonic Lumix at this show a year ago but wasn't after anything this time.

This afternoon, on the way home, I stopped off at the National Portrait Gallery to have a look at the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition.  There was the usual mix of interesting and, also, unimaginative portraits.  There were several pictures which I would like to have taken (and would have been proud of). However, many (including the first placed winner) left me rather cold.

Trafalgar Square was being prepared for the Chinese New Year celebrations.  There were the usual street performers in front of the National Gallery, and many people found a prime viewing point inside the  portico of the gallery, as seen in my blip.
