Flying the flag

One of the good things about Blipfoto is the training it gives us to spot pictures when they suddenly happen.

Just before leaving Tesco's car park this morning I happened to notice this seagull sitting on a post with a Scottish saltire in the sky behind him! Maybe he's campaigning for independence for Scottish seagulls!

Incidentally, I didn't know that the saltire with its colours reversed was the ensign of the navy of the Russian Empire from 1712-1918 and has been the banner of the navy of the Russian Federation since 1992.

Quote of the day:

Christopher Warwick, 'The Universal Ustinov' (quoting Ted Heath). "What we really ought to be doing is working on what we have got in common, rather than working on the differences."
