If you can't beat them...

Mini Blip meet!

As I said yesterday we are down in the midlands for a blipmeet.  Had everything been OK with the weather over a dozen of us were due to meet Graham Colling for a guided walk round the park and grounds.  Especially exciting as the grounds hadn't opened to the public yet this season.

Early in the day there was a lot of activity on the blipmeet forum, sadly everybody was finding conditions too bad to travel.  We were already down there and only a few miles from the Park.   Thankfully Graham was prepared to carry on the blip meet even when there would only be Clickychick and myself to accompany him and L (his wife).

We started with coffee and the inevitable chat which always happens when blippers meet.  Then using a window in the weather we had a walk round the parts which were safe to view.  Obviously the woods were a distinct no no.

We followed the walk with a lovely lunch in the Brasserie, which along with chatting (again) too us well into the afternoon.  Reluctantly we parted and CC & I headed back up the M6.  The weather wasn't as bad as I expected storm Ciara wasn't living up to the threats.  So we arrived home to find Cumbria seems to have had the worst of the weather with much flooding around the county.

I should have said for those unfamiliar with them the line of stones in the foreground is the HaHa.   A sunken wall with the ground sloping down to it.  This prevents animals walking on to the lawns while leaving an uninterrupted view for the house.
