Empty Street

We had no real plans, apart from staying warm.  We did eventually make a plan to visit Dawyk for the snowdrops, but found out it was closed due to the stormy weather,.  Instead  we headed to Paxton House.  First stop was the café for a very nice lunch.  We then walked down to the river and along the river path, following a circular route back to the car park.  Normally we would have walked a bit further, but the weather was not great and the ground was very muddy along by the river, as the river, which was very high, had been very much higher and had left mud in its wake.  We got back to the car, just as the rain started, so good timing.

Next stop was an outdoors emporium, as TT wanted to look at coats.  We browsed, but no purchases were made.  As the rain seemed to have passed, we parked in Berwick and went out for a wander, however the rain reappeared, so we didn’t hinder.  We were there long enough to buy a couple of bargain books and for me to browse in an amazing cook shop.  I plan to go back, when the boys aren’t pacing outside waiting on me!

It was time to head home, with thoughts of tea.  TT and I wanted a takeaway curry, but BB protested so much (unlike him), because he wanted fish and chips.  Once we were home, the fire was lit and the heaters were fired up, we headed out and everyone got what they wanted.

We spent a cosy evening watching TV – or at least TT did – The Battle of Britain to be exact.  I read my book, and BB played a computer game.

We survived another day with no heating!
