Social isolation!

It has started.
Yesterday evening just as we were about to leave the house for choir practice Chris got a message to say all church activities were to be suspended, so that was it, no chance to practice our Easter hymn with musical accompaniment. I cannot play the concertina, belonging to our choir master, but he has taught me to play the relevant two notes for the accompaniment and I have been practising it. Don’t know if it will happen now.
This morning Chris went to get the church contributions for the  Bingley Food Bank to deliver them and my friend who normally comes along to Pilates called. We were told last night Pilates was cancelled but decided to risk having a coffee together providing we kept our distance from each other - well she is in that category being told to stay in isolation! She ought to be on her way this weekend to stay with her family in Canada but, like our trip, that is off. We agreed to stay in touch by other means.

We had tickets to see ‘Emma’ this afternoon so I contacted the cinema in Ilkley and they said they were staying open to the end of the week. I hadn’t managed to get in over the previous weeks and really wanted to see it so we decided to take a risk and go.
For a while there was just the two of us and then at the last minute another couple arrived, sitting a couple of rows in front of us - naughty I know but we were still pretty much socially isolated I think. Glad we went, it was great.
Most of the mad shopping is passing us by, ( we have plenty of toilet rolls! ) but Chris has been struggling to get bread flour.
Bizarre to think that all the things we did in London last week have now been cancelled. Our lovely community singing group is cancelled too.
On a positive note we got a message last night to say our flight for Thursday has been cancelled and we will get a full refund from Jet2 so we will not be out of pocket on any of the holiday..
Have to wait and see what will happen with the next planned trip!
Take care everyone, let’s be thankful we have blip!
