Slow decay

I took the dying roses out on to the balcony and photographed them in the morning light.

Despite the subject matter of the blip, I've felt more optimistic and upbeat today than for ages. There is still a way to go, but slowly we can start to think about at least some aspects of the lockdown being released, perhaps in May.

I'm also upbeat because my writing went better than at any time since we came back from Germany. And I also enjoyed an hour on the exercise bike (in two separate 30 minute chunks).

All in all, a better working day than for quite some time (excluding the weekends as they have been reasonably pleasant anyway, and I have been succeeding in not working at weekends in order to maintain the work/home boundaries).
