A view from Jeanneb

Our village

What an amazing day, easy to forget the worlds ills.
Set out in a light fleece but was soon walking in just a T shirt.
We did the walk called ‘Two sides of Wilsden’ which us our adjoining village.
Up through woodland with glimpses of vistas all the way, back over the village and forward to Wilsden Hill and Birchlands where we were heading.
Once there the views of the village and valley around Harden Beck are brilliant. We spent a lot of time trying to locate our house. We spotted lots of landmarks before the realisation dawned that we can’t actually see up here from our house so would not be able to see it!
The woodland above the village is the St.Ives Estate where we walk, feed ducks on Coppice Pond and some people play golf.
The line of trees transecting the middle of the picture are at the top of the Goit Stock valley following the line of Harden Beck.
In the middle of the village you might just be able to make out the new housing development.
The moor beyond is Bingley moor and our own moor is just to the left out of the picture.
Back down the hill and into those Goit Stock woods we bumped into friends, not literally, and had a nice ‘distance’ chat. The only thing missing was the ability to call into the garden centre for a coffee.
Other favourites from the walk were, as well as many teddies in windows, a cat that had obviously found a favourite sunny window spot squeezed in past a large plant and the daffodils lining Bents Lane.
More gardening this afternoon, the bags full now so need to stop!
Online singing this evening.

Better in large.

( Eda enjoyed our duck and swan videos - swans and cygnets are now part of her vocabulary thanks to a ‘What to see on the a River’ book I got her from the National Trust. Last time she was here she called them ‘big ducks’. She still said ‘ see you tomorrow for a squeeze’!)
