CHRIST IS RISEN!

We made a decision on Thursday not to go out walking for a few days, as there were so many more people around, but last night, we decided that we would get up early and go out for a walk so that I could get a photograph of the sunrise.

We decided as we passed the houses in our street, that perhaps 6.15 in the morning was not the time to sing “Jesus Christ is Risen Today - Alleluia” but we said it quietly to each other - time to sing later!

We only saw one runner, who kept his distance and very few cars and walking along the lane where we have walked many times, we were treated to a most beautiful sunrise.

On the way back through the hotel grounds, I realised that part of the fence made a silhouetted cross, which seemed appropriate for today.  The cross is empty as is the tomb and we can say, as Christians, “CHRIST IS RISEN!”

You may not believe what we believe, and I respect that but I hope that you will also respect the fact that this is a significant and important day to us as Christians.

We pray that you will all be blessed on this Easter Day and we remember those who are still suffering the effects of Coronavirus and those mourning the loss of loved ones.

In the words of the Queen, who has today made her first Easter broadcast :

“Easter is not cancelled - we need it more than ever - as dark as death can be, light and life are greater.”

“Jesus said …..
I am the resurrection and the life.
     The one who believes in me will live,
          even though they die;
               and whoever lives by believing in me
                    will never die.”
John 11 : 25-26 NIV
