They never stop!

Another sunny day, meant more garden jobs. Measuring up here for the patio. Jon was working out the drop on the patio slabs, and how it will fit in with the level of the lawn. Our garden is very uneven. He asked my opinion, but I know he is the expert so have left it to him. We haven’t actually bought patio slabs yet, but before that they need to dig it out to the right level, then buy hardcore and sand, before slabs. Both hardcore and sand are quite easy to get hold of at the moment. We aren’t sure yet about slabs so are taking each stage as it comes.

Mollie spent the afternoon weeding nextdoor, with my help just confirming what was a weed and what wasn’t! She cut the grass too, but it will be a longish job getting the whole garden done! Lucky she has nothing else to do...

Ive added a photo of the new shingled paths and area above the pond. I’ve put a few more pots up there, and mainly spent the day tidying the pots and moving plants about. We bought some growbags in Homebase, and a new water butt. They were only open to telephone orders, then pick up from the shop. We didn’t know, so went down there. Then rang from our car in the car park, and went in to pick up. I will dot the growbags around, and grow courgettes and tomatos if they get big enough. Plus I have some aubergine plants, but have never managed to grow them big enough to have fruit before, and a couple of cucumbers. Something has to grow, with 6 bags! The summer is going to be spent doing a lot of watering.

Made a chicken pie for tomorrow’s dinner, now need an early night as I didn’t sleep well last night, and they are watching a film downstairs.
