Storm chasing

Atmospheric skies and fireworks as some spectacular squalls blasted through this afternoon accompanied by hail and thunder.

Today’s blip is a compilation of the approach of a particularly intense storm and then just 10 minutes later. Your intrepid blipper was caught by Susan standing on the patio table getting the top photo.

The morning was relatively benign allowing me a couple of hours at the allotment to plant out stuff from the greenhouse and so creating space for some pricking out seedlings which are ready for the next stage.

After this aquall, we risked a walk along the country lanes below the North Downs. Susan has full wet weather gear. I didn’t. While we did get caught in some rain we were able to watch two powerful squall cells pass to the north and south of us.

The extra is of the cowls of some oast houses from across the village green contrasting with the dark skies of a storm receding to the east.
