Down among the dandelions

We had a lovely walk this morning through Mill Moor Wood and then round by Well Houses.  I’ve discovered a huge area of Milkmaid flowers, which I didn’t know about, and which will be worth keeping an eye on for Orange-tip butterflies next year (I think it may be too late for this year).  The calves were in a section of the top field that has now been fenced off, just at the point where I had to walk down a bank to the stile - hence my eye level view.

I think my favourite image from the day was an ash tree trunk with lichen, which I’ll add in extra.  I’m also going to include the tulips that my daughter sent by post, which arrived yesterday looking a bit sorry for themselves, but have now perked up.  I’m guessing their delivery was delayed.
