Big Skies over Edinburgh

Hey Ho! It’s clapping day again. How these weeks of isolation are passing seamlessly. As for lockdown in Scotland, forget it , it is present in name only when the sun shines and the temperature is over15°. Yesterday, the Meadows and Portobello were full of young people, some of them taking advantage of being on furlough in good weather,by interpreting that essential exercise is lying prone or sitting in groups for long periods of time.

Although it’s annoying to see such blatant disregard for the exercise instructions, I can hardly blame them if they have been cooped up in a flat with no garden for 8 weeks. I think that soon the onus will be on the older generation to continue with their semi isolation while the young ones are free to mingle.

My interpretation of exercise was a dawn foray to the southern boundaries . I was home at 7am with 18+ miles on the clock. The rest of the day has been frittered away with phone calls and the making of broken biscuit fridge cake
I will meet some neighbours tonight for the first time in a week to clap the NHS although what would be more beneficial and humane would be a giant pay rise for nurses and carers.
