Lack of progress

Both of us noticed the arrival of demolition contractors on the site opposite us (what used to be the John Lewis Depository). However, one man chucking stuff out of a window into a skip and others taking a doubtless well earned lengthy afternoon break means that the point at which there will be pile driving and then thereafter perhaps a blocking of our view of the castle and the St James Centre is some time away.

Overall, we're pretty zen about it. Details of the planning application were published a few weeks ago. I decided not to object, although I think what's planned is probably too many units for the (large) site and too many high buildings, because it's going to be build-to-rent. So long as they've got their restrictive covenants in place to make sure that it stays that way.

Otherwise, I was busy making the final plans for tomorrow.
