AOG: Day Six

The excitement at Finch Arena grew more and more throughout the day.  The finch flinch competition was intense. Four finalists emerged as the sun lowered in the sky over the outdoor venue.  The judges would base their scores on the length of time the competitors flinched before diving into the abyss and swimming to the nearest rock. It's a feather-raising and daring event.

From France, Henrietta House Finch was up first and the faux flincher earned a respectable combined score of 7.2.
Leonardo the Lesser, the only remaining competitor from Central America, flinched for a mere nanosecond, taking the lead with an almost insurmountable 9.7.
Next to take to the platform was Italian Laura the Lesser, whose name means, as this reporter knows, 'crowned with laurels,'  She did what no other finch had ever done. She received a combined score of 9.98, an almost perfect score!

That left Fiore Finch who was either going to flub the flinch or beat her feat. Unfortunately, the judges determined that the Aussie twitched before she could flinch and was disqualified.

In the end, Laura was indeed crowned with laurels and presented with the gold metal for her daring feat at the meet!

Congratulazioni al nuovo campione AOG!
